London Buses route 64

London Buses route 64 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Thornton Heath Pond and New Addington, it is operated by London General.
==History==
In 1950 route 64 operated between provided a daily service between West Croydon station and Addington being operated out of Croydon garage. On 20 July 1960, route 64 was extended from West Croydon to Wimbledon Stadium to replace trolleybus route 630. By 10 May 1961 the route had been withdrawn between Tooting Broadway and Wimbledon Stadium.
On 4 December 1971 the route was converted to one man operation with the AEC Routemasters replaced by Daimler Fleetlines. On 22 August 1987, the route was extended from Addington to New Addington replacing route 130B, it was then withdrawn between West Croydon and Tooting Broadway and was diverted via London Road to Thornton Heath garage.
Upon being re-tendered, the route passed to Metrobus on 30 August 1997. In August 2009, route 64 was retained by Metrobus.〔(Bus tender results Route 64 ) Transport for London 9 October 2008〕
On 28 August 2010, night bus N64 was introduced to replace the withdrawn N159 from New Addington to Thornton Heath.
In 2014, the Go-Ahead Group restructured its bus operations, which included the transfer of Route 64 from Metrobus to Go-Ahead London. However, the vehicles used on the route continue to carry Metrobus branding.
On 24 October 2015, route 64 was extended within the New Addington area to Vulcan Way. The route was also converted to a 24 hour service with the night bus N64 withdrawn.〔http://content.tfl.gov.uk/new-addington-leaflet.pdf〕
